On 07.07.07 the first Lakrids by Johan Bülow shop opened in Svaneke, Denmark. The idea was to cook the liquorice in the shop, making sure that you could smell it in a radius of 100 meters. It worked. Everything was sold out within two hours. The last customer even bought the sample bowl on the counter.

Salty Liquorice: When your lips close around a bite of this strong, salty liquorice, the potent Nordic taste explodes on your tongue, bringing up associations of the sea, tar, bonfire smoke and the scent of resin. Salty Liquorice is the absolute favourite in the Nordic countries, but the roots come from Iran.
Red Liquorice: It took more than 5 years to create Johan Bülow’s variation of American liquorice. Red liquorice – soft and chewy with natural fruit and juice. An exquisite taste of blackcurrant, cranberry, lemon and strawberry, balanced with liquorice.
- Sweet Liquorice: Rice flour, invert sugar syrup, cane sugar, treacle, 6.9 % raw liquorice, glucose, rapeseed oil, salt, anise oil, glazing agent: shellac.
Salty Liquorice: Rice flour, invert sugar syrup, cane sugar, treacle, 6 % raw liquorice, 4.5 % ammonium chloride, rapeseed oil, salt, anise oil, glazing agent: shellac.
Red Liquorice: Glucose syrup, rice flour, cane sugar, invert sugar syrup, blackcurrant concentrate, cranberry (dried), rapeseed oil, lemon concentrate, 0.6 % raw liquorice, strawberry flavour, glazing agent: coconut oil.
- Lakrids liquorice is made from gluten free rice flour and is also vegan, however may contain traces of milk/dairy as it is made in the same facility as the other flavours.
